Graduate students

Rykkar Jackson (2023-2025): Rykkar was an MSc student at University of British Columbia primarily supervised by Warren Cardinal-McTeague and co-supervised by Shan. Rykkar studied how storage conditions influence the reflectance spectra of herbarium specimens and the performance of spectral trait models.

Lisa Naa Okai (2027-): Lisa is joining the lab as a PhD student in 2027 after finishing her MSc with Brad Pinno at University of Alberta.

Undergraduate students

Keegan Kirchen (2026-): Keegan started in the Kothari Lab as an NSERC USRA student in summer 2026 and is now continuing their research. They are testing whether we can distinguish diploid and triploid quaking aspen based on reflectance spectra and functional traits of dried leaves.
